In this unusual cartoon series, the Dolby Stereo stereo system was used for the first time, and all the work on it went in a rather interesting way. The director and Walt Disney himself made the necessary recording of the composition and listened to it, simultaneously recording all the pop-up associations. Then everything was repeated several times. Those who studied in the music school are very familiar with this process, because more than once they had to do this in music literature classes.
The works of many domestic and foreign composers sound in Fantasia: I. S. Bach, P. I. Tchaikovsky, P. Duke, I. Stravinsky, L. Beethoven, A. Ponchieli, M. Mussorgsky, F. Schubert and C. Debussy. Unfortunately, despite the grandiose idea, the project did not bring proper success. Perhaps the audience was not yet ready for such a grandiose idea. Fantasy-2000, where the plot of The Sorcerer's Pupil was used proved more successful than the previous version. The image of the protagonist was later used more than once, and his legendary hat is now a symbol of the Disney-MGM studio.
Each picture of this musical cartoon is beautiful in its own way, contains a fascinating plot and amazing music. We have chosen the brightest of them and invite you to get acquainted with the beautiful ideas of Walt Disney.
This part of the Fantasy is called "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" - and is the scherzo of Paul Duke, which was written in 1897. It is based on the ballad of I. Goethe, it tells the story of one student, who, glad that the mentor had gone away, decided to test his strength and, of course, was misled. It is interesting that this part of Fantasy is considered the best and most popular. Perhaps it was all about the beautiful music of Paul Duk or the bright image of Mickey Mouse or the unusual plot, but most likely, all these factors had a joint impact on success.
In this picture, titled "Dreams Come True," the touching story of Pegasus's mother is shown. Very unusual and lyrical cartoon, the emotion of which is enhanced by the wonderful work of L. Beethoven. "Pastoral" Symphony No. 6 fits perfectly into the overall color, drawing wonderful images of nature.
Beautiful fairy-tale images in the "Nutcracker" part are complemented by the extraordinarily beautiful music of P. I Tchaikovsky from the ballet of the same name. Air and light images are presented in all its glory. Here you will find a world of magic and fairy tales, excellent dance numbers and even a waltz of flowers.
Concerto for piano and orchestra No. 2 of D. Shostakovich draws a toy world that comes alive with the onset of midnight. This is a touching love story for a frail ballerina and a brave tin soldier who overcomes his enemy and rival - a cunning and evil clown.
A grand and impressive world unfolds in this section. Huge whales that come out of the depths of the sea and fantastically hover in the clouds to the wonderful sounds of the works of the Italian composer Ottorino Respighi "Pines of Rome". This is only part of his symphonic Roman trilogy, which describes the pine groves in different parts of Rome.
