short biography

Tom Walker was born on December 17, 1991, near Glasgow, in the small town of Kilsit. The musician rarely mentions this fact in an interview and admits: telling everyone that he was born in Manchester is easier than explaining where his real home is. Kilsit is a small village where there are two shops, a pub and a farmers market. Tom recalls his childhood with love, telling that all his free time was riding a bicycle, jumping from the bungee and playing musical instruments in his room.

Tom became interested in music in early childhood. His father played the guitar well, but rather as an amateur, so all he could teach his son was the composition Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water". Tom's sister had a professional mastery of music, she was a flutist and had good vocal abilities. Pursuing something more academic, she could not instill it in her brother, who from an early age did not recognize the standards and did everything in her own way. But the guy was attracted to this direction, he felt that he had to reach his potential.

The father took the future musician to various concerts of his favorite performers. Tom got to the AC / DC show in Paris for the first time. Then he was 11 years old, but the memories of this day are still stored in the memory of Walker. Inspired by the huge collection of tapes Foo Fighters, Muse, Underworld, Prodigy, UB40, which Tom found from his father, he himself learned to play various instruments. First on the guitar, later I got drums and bass. In Kilsit, there were no more people who played, so the guy created his own compositions on his own, in parallel using several instruments and recording music on the recorder. Gradually, Tom Walker developed his abilities, first, ideally, he learned how to play a guitar solo, then began to try to write his own music and poems. Soon, he decided to go to a music college near Northwich to get a special education. After training, Tom went to London, where he worked diligently for three years in order to get a degree in songwriting and variety art.

After graduating from university, Tom Walker moved to Manchester. There, the guy got a job in a recording studio and at the same time composed music on the side. He believed that he could declare himself, but for a long time he could not succeed. Tom admits that he worked for days on the flight and he simply did not have time to look for a new job, and he couldn’t go "free swimming". Then, Destiny itself came to the aid of the bewildered musician. Teacher Tom, with whom they maintained friendly relations after graduation, sent one of his songs to the management of the company where Walker worked. The bosses were inspired by an eccentric and fresh performance and decided to give it a chance. Tom Walker transfer to another position. Now, he should have taught novice musicians to write compositions. Thanks to the hard work and great talent, Tom managed to get hold of the leadership and then a completely new chapter of his life was opened.

Exactly a year after he was promoted, Tom Walker struck a lucrative deal with major companies such as Sony and Relentless, and a year later, in 2016, put his signature on a contract with Universal.
